My first guidebook about London, Great London Walks was published in 2013 by the publisher Outdoor Books. My brother Sune Karlsson and I went to Scotland after publishing the book titled Sarek's four seasons, at Nordstedts Förlag in 1982. For the royalty money, we made two joint tours to Scotland and I became an Anglophile. Although I have probably been one all my life without knowing it. London trips for work followed and I was completely sold on britain. In 2014 the book Scotland, the best tours, were launched and then I just kept going. The books are usually published by Outdoor Books and a couple by my own publishing firm. I have made some books for other authors and published them. You will find most of them here on the page. I create everything about the books myself from pictures, illustrations, text and layout. The whole thing is funny, but I avoid being a book publisher these days. You can't do everything.

Great London Walks

Join me on ten walks and experience a London most people don't come into contact with. On the way through London's varied districts, you will meet unique places with an exciting history and pubs that not only quench your thirst. You will learn how the city was founded by the Romans, why a villain in a Bond film is called Goldfinger, why Notting Hill was "a plague of an unparalleled kind" according to Charles Dickens and that before 1820 Belgravia was a swamp frequented by straw robbers and robbers after dark .

"London hides in back streets, in a nook in the park and behind creamy white facades. You have to walk in order not to miss the city and Bosse Bjelvenstedt leads the walk with gusto. Great London Walks is the go-to guide for those who sense there is something beyond Oxford Street and Knightsbridge, but don't know where to start looking. It's also so stylish that you can easily sit at home and still wander through London, just by flipping from image to image."

London Walks 2

After a brief history of post-Roman London, eleven new walks of varying lengths are presented. This time too, the choice of route is incredibly varied and you can calmly follow Bosse's firm route choice, enjoy the pictures and his own hand-drawn maps. We follow another new underground river and get to see more of the Thames' surroundings both upstream and downstream. London City in the wake of the Great Fire of 1666 and the law houses around Fleet Street. There will be country gardens, modern bank palaces among former docks, visits to pirate pubs and royal castles. The variation is, if possible, still greater than in the first book.
In addition to the author's own maps and clear directions, there is also good advice here on how to be equipped for the walks and how to get around the city of millions most easily. Regardless of whether you choose a shorter or longer walk, you get a unique experience. Food and drink are usually available along the road in pubs, restaurants and cafes. You will find out which ones to choose in the book. The handy format makes the book easy to take with you on a walk, while all the pictures make it a pleasant experience already at home in your favorite armchair. London Walks 2 is a book you can read even if you don't have a trip to London planned. It is an experience in itself and not just a preparation for future ones.

Amelia Adamo appreciated Great London Walks: “Hi. I really enjoyed your book. One like that suits our readership and me.”

London Bästa dagsutflykterna

The nicest day trips from London by train. Visit the universities, cathedrals, beaches and castles. Experience exciting history along walks in Cambridge, Oxford, Canterbury, Winchester, Bath, Brighton, Whitstable, Stratford-upon-Avon, Margate, Woodstock, Windsor and Eton. You can catch quite a lot if you take the train from London for a day. Enjoy fresh oysters and a pint in the sun on Whitstable's pebble beach - the Romans did it. Or head west to the former capital of Winchester and be captivated by the cathedral and King Arthur's round table now on the wall of the former palace.

Whichever of the book twelve excursions you choose, you get a lovely walk and take part in England's exciting history during an unforgettable day. Oxford's and Cambridge's colleges are obviously included among all excursion destinations, just like William Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon with its half-timbered houses and thatched roofs. The book also tells you how to book and buy train tickets and other things that can simplify and make your travel cheaper.
Review in BTJ booklet 3, 2017. "Bo Bjelvenstedt, with a background in the advertising and media industry, now works in marketing. He has previously published guidebooks about both London and Scotland. In London's Best Day Trips, the author presents 12 day trips by train in southern England. All train journeys depart from London. He provides excellent and clear information on what a traveler needs to know regarding these trips. The cultural-historical destinations are introduced in a good way with the sights that made the destination famous, for example restaurants, hotels and shopping. The long walks are described in detail and make it easier for the traveler. The author visits Cambridge as well as Oxford, Windsor, Eton, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon. This guidebook gives a sense of travel and is aimed at a wide audience of travelers interested in England, but can also be read with advantage by the home traveler. The beautiful layout with many color pictures, maps and the informative text forms a whole that makes the book easy to read and the format makes it easy to take on the trip." Overall rating: 4. – Christer Olsson.

Skottland Bästa rundturerna

In this guidebook, he takes you on road trips through the country he has experienced over decades. Join the author of Great London Walks on an exciting tour through Scotland. You get to experience his gems in the varied country, among moors, mountains, castles and sparkling waterways – a country made for fly fishing, pheasant hunting, golf, whiskey and equestrian sports. Stories from thirty years of experiences are interspersed with tangible travel tips and hand-drawn maps where no one gets lost. Maltwhisky från Skottlands västkust

I traveled around Scotland a lot with my brother Sune in the early 1980s and the interest for the country, its nature, culture and traditions were laid. The interest in fly fishing, golf, and small game hunting has given me great experiences there with friends. Visits to whiskey distilleries gave birth to a curiosity about what creates the flavors and the differences between the products. Since the 1980s there have been many repeat tours resulting in a personal guidebook of Scotland 2014. This book focuses on the malt whiskey distilleries on the mainland and islands along the west coast of Scotland. Guidebook author Bosse Bjelvenstedt hasn't let a world pandemic stop him from making a tasty presentation of the malt whiskey distilleries on Scotland's west coast. The distilleries and their owners contributed photos and up-to-date information to the author who put together this appealing and interesting guide to the West Coast's twenty-five malt whiskey distilleries. Seven of them are on the mainland and the remaining eighteen on the islands with a predominance of Islay with its nine distilleries. The book presents the distilleries, their products and specialties with a wealth of pictures. History, malt whiskey production and its many sometimes complicated expressions are presented in an easy-to-understand manner.
The book is intended as an overview guide for planning visits to west coast distilleries in Scotland. The reader also gets there well prepared and can take advantage of the guided tours at the distilleries.

Klippbyar i Provence

In this book I will try to do these amazing rock villages justice. It is not an easy task, because their greatness is best experienced in place in the Provençal mountains where they are perched on the pointed peaks with their walls, church towers and gray fortifications. My book is not a guidebook of the usual kind. I'm just an ordinary traveler interested in culture who had the privilege of staying in Provence and experiencing the magic and attraction of the cliff villages. I have selected 20 rock villages in southernmost Provence, more precisely in the department of Alpes-Maritmes and Var. They can be reached by car, train or bus and are perfect places for day trips. From the author Ingrid Hultqvist, who warmly recommends a visit.

Lägereldens mat

Alf Andersson and Juhas Rankinen's wilderness cookbook describes Swedish nature and everything in it that you can use, cook and eat. Step by step, they describe in text and pictures how to treat and cook fish and meat using different methods. They usually use primitive methods such as open fire but also outdoor cooking.
The photographer Jonas Gerdle has followed them both and his pictures depict in an instructive way how you can learn to cook wild food like these two experts. Hygiene issues and the tools you need to succeed are also treated in an educational way.
Anyone interested in nature and the outdoors will find something of interest in this book. Whether they are hunters, fishermen, scouts or berry pickers. Alf and Juha have moved the cooking out into nature and prepare their food over the campfire. This is a handbook in the art of cooking over fire for all outdoorsmen. You get to learn fire knowledge, fourteen different cooking methods, drying food, cooking over fire with step-by-step pictures. Making your own tools, hygiene, handling and preparing raw materials in the best way and nutrition are also included in this thorough book. You will find menu templates for different tours, cooking times, sauce suggestions, spices, the forest pantry and basic recipes with pictures based on meat, fish, poultry, etc. This is simply a basic book for hunters, fishermen, scouts and all other outdoorsmen who enjoy being in nature.

Briefly about the two authors:
Alf Andersson has written 15 books for hunters, fishermen and outdoorsmen about cutting up game, smoking meat, fish and handbooks for searching for game. In 2015, Alf received an honorary diploma from Halland's Matakademi for "sustainable and ethical use of the raw materials that are available in Halland's nature". Juha Rankinen is one of the founders of Vildmarksgymnasiet in Unnaryd, where young people learn to live with nature. He has worked for many years all over the world as the main instructor in wilderness knowledge for the English Ray Mears and can be said to be an expert on man's relationship with, and use of, nature.

Sarek Fjällturer - Mountain Hikes 1970-2016

The book is intended for Swedish an foreign visitors and therefore has Swedish and English text. Sune Karlsson took his first trip through Sarek in 1970 with his thirteen-year-old brother Bo. Since then, Sune has faithfully returned year-round and collected a unique image treasure of Sweden's last wilderness. The book contains pictures from mountain tours in the national park all year round.
The target group is Swedish mountain hikers and foreign tourists. The text in the book is therefore both in Swedish and English. Sune Karlsson took his first trip through Sarek in 1970 with his thirteen-year-old brother Bo. It was a demanding trip for both of them, but it gave more flavor. Since then, Sune has faithfully returned year-round and collected a unique image treasure of Sweden's last wilderness. The hiking season here is usually short – July and August. Therefore, it is extra fun that the book has pictures from the whole year.
Together with his brother Bo, Sune published the photo book "Sarek's four seasons", at Norstedt's publishing house in 1982. This book is divided into 14 different tours that are briefly described at the beginning of each chapter together with a map. Sune knows that even foreign hikers love Sarek. Therefore, we have chosen to have all the text also in English for their sake. The book is a perfect keepsake for them to take home. Place names are also included in Sami. The book is intended as inspiration for mountain hikers, but practical trail tips and equipment advice are also included. Several of the tours in the roadless and pathless area are, in addition to hiking, partly with Klepperkajak and skis in winter.
"Their book 'Sarek's Four Seasons' from 1982 was praised until the 2000s when it was compared to more recent books about Sarek. It had the right feeling and a kind of 'mindfulness' that the modern variants did not have. I dare say that this book with its collected images from 1970 right up to 2016 has that feeling. I therefore know that it is the publisher, Bo, sitting on the cover of the book aged 13 looking out over Rapadalen. The feeling is present throughout the book and I think that many Swedish mountain hikers and nature enthusiasts will agree when the book comes out this fall."

Afrikas bästa safari

Safari is a great experience as you never know in advance who you will meet and what you will see. On a safari, you live in the moment all the time. It is a privilege to be able to stay in the beautiful nature and observe the animals in their right environment. This is Uno Grönkvist's fifth book about travel, but the first to deal exclusively with Africa. He went on his first safari nearly fifty years ago and the wide savannahs and steamy rainforests have lured him back twenty more times. In total, he has visited thirty African countries.

Time-consuming on-site research is behind this book, which contains everything you need to know to get the most out of a safari. What animals do you meet, what do you eat, how do you spend the night, what types of safaris are there to choose from, what is the climate like, does safari involve any risks - all questions will be answered! The author emphasizes how important it is to respect the wild animals, many of which are endangered due to extensive poaching. Long-term safari planning and well-thought-out ecotourism are becoming increasingly important in Safariland. In total, national parks and reserves are presented in all important safari countries, from Ethiopia in the north to South Africa in the south, from the Congo in the west to Madagascar in the east. There are many solid pieces of advice and practical tips. The book includes a number of chapters divided into sections such as The Art of Choosing the Right Safari, Destinations, Safari Specialties, Good to Know and Advice and Experiences.

Uno Grönkvist is a writer, multi-journalist and globetrotter. The first book he was involved in was a biography, Prince Bertil tells us, which was published by two publishers and printed in a combined edition of 160,000 copies. He switched to management literature and wrote, among other things, the first Swedish book on sponsorship and event marketing. In recent years, he has focused on books about travel.

En passares betraktelser

"I'm a fairly ordinary person, of a reasonable age. Mother of four children, work in healthcare and so I write a lot. But I'm also a hunter. Moose hunter. Someone who sits waiting for animals. Some people think it's sad, it's wonderful I think. It's my escape from the gray everyday life, which you really need sometimes. My interest in hunting started sometime in the mid-80s, when I had to join in and find out all the meat that came home in pods , writing little notes of what kind of pieces they were, and tying up the bags that were put in the freezer. Then proudly posed with horns while I listened to how the hunt had gone. Eventually, when the legs got long and strong enough that they couldn't bear to poke around in the forest, I also accompanied my father on the hunt, but it would take many years before the interest grew to the point where I wanted to take the hunter's qualification myself. There is one more thing that also interests me, and that is that I enjoy photography (on an amateur level, I must add), and it is perfectly possible to combine these interests. The photos in this book are, unless otherwise stated, taken by me on or around the passes I've been to. The book is about my stay and my experiences in the forests around Rätansböle (called Böle) in southern Jämtland, mainly during the autumn during hunting season. Seen from the pass. Everything from the boredom that can occur on the pass (if nothing happens), to the excitement and total happiness that occurs when things happen, and maybe even go the way. I have also picked up some events that happened on the hunting ground before my time. Such lovely old stories that are too good to be forgotten, and which I have heard told by the fire in the evenings. The book, I mean, is NOT about how the hunt itself is done in a practical and regular way. You can read about that in another hunting book."
The author Jonna Eriksson.
